Since the birth, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, our battles are spiritual not physical. In Christ we are preserved! The Lord God fights our battles and praise be to Him alone....He wins!
The Lord had used Babylon to punish Assyria for deporting Israel; He would use another foe from the north to inflict punishment on Babylon. The result would be the restoration of Israel and Judah and the pardoning of their iniquities and sins, the very reason for their demise.
Jeremiah 50:20
20In those days and in that time,” says the Lord,
“The iniquity of Israel shall be sought, but there shall be none;
And the sins of Judah, but they shall not be found;
For I will pardon those whom I preserve.
