Luke 1:1-4

When we abide in Him God uses the talents that He has given us to help bring others to salvation and the Holy Spirit to equip us with the power to accomplish His will. We all have a purpose and a destiny in His plan no matter how large or small. God used the analytical, compassionate mind of Luke to describe the compassion and healing nature of the Son of God.
Luke makes it clear that he was not the first to write a narrative of the ministry of Jesus. The theme of God’s plan is introduced with the note that the subject of such narratives was the things which have been fulfilled. The sources for these narratives were eyewitnesses who delivered their testimony to the church. Deliver refers to the transmission of an authoritative account. These verses suggest that Luke was not an eyewitness to the events of Jesus’ ministry, but that he had access to statements of those who were.
Luke 1:1-4
1 Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us, 3 it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, 4 that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed.
