In with the new and out with the old…..we are made well and whole in Christ.
We no longer need to live in the sins of the past but now we live in the newness and joy of abiding in Him!
Joy in the Lord is our strength in good times and bad.
Mark’s Gospel is unique it presents Jesus as a Savior-King, who conquers demons, disease, and death.
The newness of Christ’s message, and of the new covenant to follow, cannot fit into the old molds of Judaism.
Mark 2:21-22
21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. 22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
Matthew 9:13
31 Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
Luke 5:31
10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:10
