Mark 2:27-28

God gave man a day of rest!

A day of rest. A day set aside by God for all His creation. He wants us to take one day a week to recoup from the daily grind of everyday life with a renewed “attitude of gratitude" for all He has done and continues to do by resting in His love.

Rest in His Sabbath… it was made for us!

Jesus reminds His critics of the meaning of the Sabbath for humans and His own Lordship over it.

Mark 2:27-28

27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. 28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”

Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
Genesis 2:3

12 Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female servant and the stranger may be refreshed.
Exodus 23:12

14 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
Deuteronomy 5:14

12 Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them.
Ezekiel 20:12

For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”

Matthew 12:8
