Mark 15:40-41

There were also women looking on from afar....this speaks volumes about the status of women in the days that Jesus lived on earth. Women were considered the property of men and in some countries are still. If we listen to the Scriptures, Jesus changed all that, He numbered women among His disciples and also His friends. God is never limited by societal rules and the worth they place on His creation......we would do well to listen to Him.

These women were true disciples of Christ. They had ministered to Jesus’ needs and would be the first witnesses of His resurrection. 

Mark 15:40-41

⁴⁰ There were also women looking on from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses, and Salome, ⁴¹ who also followed Him and ministered to Him when He was in Galilee, and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.
