We are our brother's keeper! We
need to evaluate our actions and the actions of others on their merit and let the determining factor be how the action benefits not only them but others who cannot help themselves.
The honest self-examination that Paul was calling for leads to true humility.
2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
